Get Swimming Week Five

In your three sessions this week, we are working towards being able to swim 1,100 metres

Welcome to Week 5 of Get Swimming, a 12-week programme brought to you by The Irish Times, in association with Swim Ireland. This training programme will help you to build your swimming stamina and confidence, so you are able to swim a mile by May.

Week Five

Last week, we built up to swimming a distance of 1km. In your three sessions this week, we are working towards being able to swim 1,100 metres. This week's programme focuses on: breast stroke, sculling practice and bilateral breathing. Your swimming coach, former Olympian Melanie Nocher offers tips on these and arm and leg positions in our instruction video.
