Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
Moderately healthy. By most definitions of healthy lifestyle, I'd be considered very healthy. For me, actions do speak louder than words and all leadership starts with leading yourself. This is so important in the health space where, unfortunately, common sense doesn't always translate into common action.
How often do you exercise?
Several years ago I committed to the health-enhancing habit of daily exercise. I believe it really is the greatest pill of all, packed full of physical health benefits and also building psychological fitness and enhancing emotional vitality. High points so far have included completing the New York and Waterford Viking Marathons. I've also started Pilates.
Do you get your five fruit and vegetables a day?
Most days I do.
Do you worry?
I try not to because I understand that the load of tomorrow added to that of yesterday, carried today, can make even the strongest person falter. So learning to live in the moment is a key part of sustainable happiness and wellbeing.
What do you do to relax?
I love spending time with nature, in my garden or a long walk by the beach. I also enjoy family movie nights or a good meal with family and friends.
What's your worst habit?
My worst habit was my desire for perfection which, of course, is a destination that doesn't exist. In recent years, as I've developed my new philosophy of wellbeing, I've come to truly understand the importance of balance and self-acceptance. So, while still heading for the mountaintop, I'm enjoying the moment.
