Rathfarnham: €750,000Edwardian-style Charleville Square, Rathfarnham, a development built in 2001, made news last week when a five-bedroom house on the estate (which sold for £1 million when new) fetched €2.11 million at auction, €810,000 over the guide.

Number 4 Charleville Square, a smaller four-bedroom semi-detached house with a very smart interior, is for sale by private treaty through Sherry FitzGerald for €750,000. Back in 2001, the same house cost around £450,000 pounds ( €571,482).

The house has all the luxurious fittings that made Charleville Square a sell-out development when first built. Floors throughout are polished maple or porcelain, bathrooms are glamorous and the kitchen, as you would expect, has granite worktops, a cherrywood island unit and top range appliances.
