Sunday (January 29th) Adam's, 26 St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2. The January attic sale produced a surprise sleeper: Lot 184, a pair of early 20th century English china vases, made by the Moorcroft art pottery in Burselm, Staffordshire, sold for €6,000 – 12 times the top estimate of €500. Overall, some 90 per cent of lots sold.

Tuesday (January 31st) Adams Blackrock Auctioneers, 38 Main Street, Blackrock, Co Dublin. Fine Art & Interiors auction. Eighty-two per cent of lots sold. Lot 149, a Waterford Crystal 18-arm chandelier €7,800 (€4,000- €6,000); Lot 151, a Bechstein boudoir grand piano €3,000 (€2,000-€3,000). Lot 278, a lady's full- length mink coat, "provenance Macy's New York", estimated at €1,000- €1,500, was unsold.

Tuesday (January 31st) Oliver Usher's Auction Rooms, John Street, Kells, Co Meath. Antiques auction. Seventy per cent of lots sold. A Murano Glass sculpture Head with Fruit - a Homage to Picasso by Walter Furlan €2,800 (€3,000- €4,000); an Irish Free State army officer's sword €650 (€1,500-€2,000).

Sunday (February 5th) Merlin Car Auctions, Naas Rd, Co Kildare (Junction 10). Auction of classic and vintage cars at 1pm to include "a 1967 Mercedes 250SL LHD Convertible with 87,955 miles on the clock and a guide price of in excess of €40,000".

Sunday & Monday (February 5th & 6th) Victor Mee Auctions, Cloverhill, Belturbet, Co Cavan. A two-day auction of "examples of bespoke and everyday items used throughout rural and urban Ireland from Famine times through to the mid-20th century – including Irish political, military and Land War memorabilia".
