Antique jewellery, vintage watches, silverware and gold coins go under the hammer in three Dublin auctions next week that are timed to capture Christmas spending.
At O'Reilly's, Francis Street on Wednesday, December 11th at 1pm,* the 360 lots include a South Sea pearl necklace with a diamond clasp in a Garrard of London case, estimated at €15,000- €16,000; an Art Deco platinum- mounted diamond cluster ring, €5,000-€7,000; and a rather more affordable gift for a new arrival: two silver and mother-of-pearl rattles (€85-€95).
At Adam’s, on Tuesday, December 10th, at 6pm, highlights include Art Deco diamond and jade earrings, €10,000-€15,000, and an Art Deco diamond and onyx brooch, €10,000-€15,000. Viewing tomorrow from noon.
On Tuesday at 1pm, * the John Weldon Auctioneers sale in Temple Bar includes a cased, diamond and seed pearl-set antique necklace with a detachable diamond and pearl-set pendant (€2,500-€3,500) (see photograph); a diamond and pearl-set antique flora spray brooch (€1,500-€2,500); and, five one-ounce fine gold Canadian maple- leaf coins (€900-€1,000 each).
