Bowling alley brothers Ciaran and Colum Butler, owners of the Leisureplex chain of entertainment venues, are looking to demolish Stillorgan Bowl Leisureplex and build a residential, commercial and a new Leisureplex development in its place.

The proposal is to knock the Leisureplex at 62-79 St Laurence's Park, two houses, a public library and 16 maisonette units and build 314 residential units, including 40 social housing units, 2,238 sq m (24,090 sq ft) of retail, 3,398 sq m (36,576 sq ft) of offices, leisure and recreational facilities, a crèche, new public library and car-parking in 16 blocks rising to 15 stories on the three-acre site.

The Butler brothers own Leisureplexes in Cork, Coolock, Tallaght and Blanchardstown in Dublin.

The new public library on the Stillorgan site would be in a six-to-eight storey atrium building at upper ground floor level.

The proposal is for 528 spaces, 27 of which would be surface, and 360 bicycle spaces.

The residential units are mainly a mix of apartments, live/work units and duplexes.
