On a road mostly lined with terraced red-bricks, a pair of semidetached Edwardian houses stand out. From the outside and with their tall, timber-finished gables and bay windows, they look significantly bigger than their neighbours, though they probably aren’t.

Mornington Road is a cul-de-sac with a pedestrian entrance on to Ranelagh Road via a lane that has Tesco on one side and a busy construction site for a new hotel on the other. How the new hotel will affect parking on Mornington Road remains to be seen.
