Adamstown is the brand new town that is taking shape at Finnstown, near Lucan in the west of Dublin.

Planning regulations require that schools, playing fields, roads and general infrastructure are in place before each phase goes to market.

A new train station is due to open next month and play areas and crèches are planned for each neighbourhood.

Prices at The Paddocks are pitched to attract young owner-occupiers, who have been in the majority in earlier phases at Adamstown.

Two-bedroom apartments of 67.5-79sq m (721-850sq ft) cost from €299,950. Two-bedroom townhouses of 70sq m (750sq ft) cost from €349,950.

Three-bedroom apartments of 93.5-98sq m (1,001-1,055sq ft) start at €340,000. Three-bed terraced townhouses in various styles and sizes cost from €369,950 for 80-132sq m (861-1,424sq ft) of living space.

Also for sale are three-bed semis of 80sq m (861sq ft) starting at €385,000.

Larger three-bed semis of 106sq m (1,141sq ft) start at €445,000.

Three-bedroom duplex units of 132sq m (1,421sq ft) are from €380,000 and four-bedroom semi-detached houses of 116sq m (1,250sq ft) cost from €520,000.

Developer Maplewood Developments is continuing the contemporary look of the first developments at Adamstown, with a blend of glass, wood and rendered exteriors. Parks and landscaping are a priority here, so density is agreeably low and a good landscaping plan has been drawn up.

Some people have moved into their new homes at Adamstown and the town is taking shape. Each phase has its own construction entrance, reducing the inconvenience for early buyers.

There are neighbourhood shops at Finnstown, a Superquinn down the road and the amenities of Lucan a few minute's drive from the site.

Viewing is from noon today until Sunday at 5pm.
