A private investor has paid in excess of £3 million for the former AIB branch opposite the Jervis Centre at Mary Street, Dublin 1. The building has a ground floor area of 4,000 sq ft and about 1,500 sq ft on the three upper floors.

The new owners have sought planning permission to use the building for retail purposes. It adjoins Penneys. Michael Harrington of Palmer McCormack advised the purchaser. The same agents have relet the former Prescotts dry cleaning stores in Stillorgan Shopping Centre at an enhanced rent after buying in the unit for the owners. The original rent of £52,000 per annum has been increased to £85,000 with a new letting to a card shop, A Day To Remember.
