Swords: from €299,000: Executives looking for a smart apartment near Dublin airport will be well suited to Mountgorry Wood, a low-density scheme off the Malahide Road in Swords, Co Dublin.
Show units open for the first time this weekend, when the final 30 two-bedroom apartments go on sale. With the location near the M1 and airport, investors could also be interested.
Prices from €299,000 to €340,000 reflect the high spec finish of this scheme, a project by Rollville, a Co Tyrone building firm with a reputation for quality.
Already, 18 apartments have sold from plans and completions are expected from the summer onwards. The apartments are distributed among four two and three-storey blocks, surrounded by tall pine and deciduous trees.
The contemporary facade of yellow brick, grey and brown aluminium and glass has an attractive retro look. Inside, thick entrance doors are inlaid maple, with internal doors in birch. Light switches and sockets are brushed steel and windows are timber double-glazed.
Unit sizes vary from 69 sq m (745 sq ft) to 78 sq m (847 sq ft) and large windows ensure that the accommodation is bright. Curved balconies are a good size and open from the sittingroom and both bedrooms.
The show apartment has an angled sittingroom with a kitchen off at one end. While units are of the familiar maple with steel handles, unusual details such as chrome shutters add visual impact. The oven, hob and extractor fan are included with the sale and cream marble wall tiling is standard.
A decked balcony off the sittingroom is large enough to fit a table and chairs and planting. A useful walk-in store room opens off the inner corridor. The two bedrooms are double in size, with fitted wardrobes and doors from each to the decked balcony. An en suite shower room leads off the main bedroom and the principal bathroom with bath has understated two-tone grey wall tiling.
A landscaping plan is in place for the grounds and will include lawns, planting, free car-parking and enclosed bin storage. Viewing is on Saturday and Sunday.
