Four-bedroom houses of 129sq m (1,388 sq ft) start at €430,000.

The development off Hunters Lane will have 230 new homes when completed.

Developer Logancourt and architects O'Mahony Pike decided on a traditional look for Ashewood, with front driveways and communal landscaping.

Open space is laid out in several 'pockets', so children can play within sight of home.

Contemporary kitchens, fitted wardrobes and fireplaces piped for natural gas are part of the package. The central heating is gas.

Bathroom ware is the latest design and en suites have large shower trays.

One of the best aspects of this scheme is its location. It is in walking distance of Ashbourne's new town centre.

Viewing is from 3-5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
