Piggott proposes 46 house and apartment scheme in ClontarfDeveloper Mark Piggott has submitted another plan for Redcourt House on Seafield Road West in Clontarf, Dublin 3.

Last year, Piggott's plans to demolish the house and build 54 apartments were scuppered by An Bord Pleanála.

Now Piggot is seeking permission to build a total of 46 residential units on the site. Four of these will be contained in a refurbished and extended Redcourt House.

The remainder will be in a five-storey apartment block and two blocks of townhouses. In 2005 Piggott paid €7.5 million for the Victorian house on 1.65-acres.

Hockey pitch development proves to be a non-runner

Plans for a residential development on the site of a disused hockey pitch, which once formed part of the former Loreto National School in Dublin 14, have been refused by planners.

M&N O'Grady Developments planned to build 80 houses and apartments in six blocks on the hockey pitch of the school, which is now occupied by the Rathfarnham Educate Together National School.

The 1.34 hectare site is between Stonepark Avenue and Loreto Avenue. An Bord Pleanála said the scheme would provide for "a poor standard of residential amenity".

A total of 300 new homes are in the pipeline for Inchicore, Dublin 8. P Elliot and Co is to apply to Dublin City Council for permission to develop a site at the former Office of Public Works Depot on Jamestown Road.

It has drawn up plans for 280 apartments and 20 houses on the site.

Buildings will range in height from two to six storeys with a nine-storey tower on Chassis Square.

Three retail units, a creche and a community facility will also be built, if the plans get the go-ahead.

A civic square, residential park and play areas also form part of P Elliot's plans.
