John Goode who abandoned a lucrative career in dentistry to found an art gallery in Castletownbere has been a champion of Irish ceramics for years and inaugurated the Irish Ceramics Awards in 2008.
His book Irish Ceramics, just published, is a valuable record of the most important ceramic artists working in Ireland today and shows just how creative, diverse and deserving of recognition they are.
