Audi Ireland has appointed Henning Dohrn as its new managing director. He will replace Christian Gussen, who held the role for three years and who moves back to Audi's head office in Germany, where he will become regional director for India, Taiwan and southeast Asia.

Both take up their new roles from August 1st.

Mr Dohrn previously worked as executive assistant to Audi board member Dietmar Voggenreiter, who was head of sales and marketing. He has experience with sales, used car strategy and international network planning.

Audi is the best-selling premium brand on the new car market, with 4,103 registrations in the first six months. It has held the lead over rival BMW since 2009.
