Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead.
DUBLIN: From January 16th, traffic permanently diverted onto re-aligned section of Sandyford Rd where it crosses the M50. Access to Sandyford village unchanged, but access to Coolkill and Kilcross estates will be via new access roads, which will be clearly signposted. Northbound N11 lane closures at Wyattville from Loughlinstown Roundabout towards The Silver Tassie for approx 400metres. Closures from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Brides Glen Road closed until March 31st for completion of new motorway bridge. Local access will be maintained at all times. Works in front of Store St Garda Station means no access to Beresford Place, Busárus, or the Coroner's Court. Because of Luas works, no access from Frenchmans lane or Store St North via Talbot St. Motorists access Busárus and the Coroner's Court from Amiens Street or Talbot Place. Busárus taxi rank relocated outside the Coroner's Court.
WESTMEATH: Today is final day of works on R400 (Rochfortbridge to Edenderry Rd), from Rochfortbridge to the county boundary.
OFFALY: Works on N62 in Ferbane. Traffic north or southbound divert via Ballinahown, Cloghan or Tullamore. Delays expected.
GALWAY: Restrictions at Cloonmore Bridge on N17 (Tuam/Galway Rd). Delays expected.
LEITRIM: Road re-alignment works on N16 about six miles west of Manorhamilton for Sligo-bound traffic. Temporary traffic lights, and road narrowing - expect delays.
DONEGAL: Broadband works along N13 towards Letterkenny from Ballybofey. Expect delays.
LIMERICK: Traffic restrictions on Rutland Street at Bank Place (N20) for essential work at the junction. Delays expected for outbound traffic towards Corbally and Dublin.
Planned maintenance and cleaning works around the Parkway, Ballysimon Road, Kilmallock Road and Roxborough Road roundabouts between 10.00 and 13.00.
KERRY: Works on N21 between Tralee and Ballycarty, between Ratass at the east of Tralee and Ballycarty roundabout where N21 and N22 converge.
CORK: Marlboro Street, Cook St and Courthouse St are closed. Also inbound traffic diverted at Shears Street/Grattan Street junction onto Liberty St. Diversion signs are in place. Fitton St closed from Keeffe St to Morrison's Quay for Cork Main Drainage Works. Restrictions in Cork City: Oliver Plunkett Street Lower one way from Clontarf St to Customs House St, Robert St closed and Watercourse Rd closed for laying of new culvert. Keeffe St closed from Catherine St to Fitton St.
TRAVEL NEWS: The annual refit of the HSS Stena Explorer means the Stena Line Dún Laoghaire /Holyhead services suspended until February 12th. There are no Irish Ferries sailings on the continental route until March 5th, 2004.
Irish Ferries will operate temporary schedule on the Rosslare to Pembroke service until February 4th for the MV Normandy. There will be no Irish Ferries Dublin to Holyhead Swift sailings until January 27th.
