To commemorate this year’s 1916 Easter Rising anniversary, Glasnevin Museum presents The Story of 1916, a 90-minute tour that takes you to the graves of Parnell, Maude Gonne Mac Bride, Éamon de Valera and Michael Collins, as well as the crypt, Daniel O’Connell’s final resting place beneath the O’Connell round tower.
"Kids love to hear my stories of grave-robbers," says historian and resident author Shane MacThomáis, whose own titles Glasnevin – Ireland's Necropolis and Dead Interesting Tales From the Graveyards of Dublin, can be purchased in the museum shop. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs €25. See glasnevintrust.ie
