Eagle Creek Pack-it Wallaby
Perhaps not the most stylish toiletries bag around, Eagle Creek’s Pack-It Wallaby makes its pitch on functionality. Designed to hang from its swivel hook, it opens down for easy access.
There's a zippered mesh compartment at the top, with a shatterproof mirror and a series of open pockets. And at the bottom, a clear pouch with a zip for 100ml liquids can be detached for airport scanning. The bag is stain and water resistant and comes in a range of colours for a modest fashion statement. And everything in its place. €36, greatoutdoors.ie
Resqbattery
Resqbattery talks about sustainability on its website, but given these aren't rechargeable, one could think any eco-friendly credentials might be somewhat compromised. Still, it's a different take on avoiding being stranded with a flat phone.
Small enough to stick in your pocket, these are pre-charged and ready to use straight out of the pack. Each one promises five hours of use and they are sold in pairs. Currently the Resqbattery just comes with a micro USB connector, so it can't power up an iAnything. $12, resqbattery.com
Logitech Keys-To-Go
Trusting your phone is always an alternative to hefting a laptop with you on your travels. But if your fat-fingered speed on the touchscreen isn’t quite up to longer-form typing, Logitech’s Keys-To-Go might be a useful carry-on item if a bit of work will have to be done.
Slim and lightweight – how we’d all like to be holiday-ready – it’s covered in a dust and crumb-repelling, spill-proof rubbery skin. (Particularly practical if you’re squatting on the wifi at a local cafe.)
The keys are reasonably laid out, with shortcuts for both Android and iOS devices at a tap. A charge should last weeks and it comes with a little stand for your smartphone. €70, logitech.com
