The Government has extended its time frame for Irish tourists in Spain to travel home until this Saturday in order to deal with the large numbers attempting to leave the region. Irish citizens have been advised not to travel to Germany in a new directive issued on Wednesday evening. Countries are closing their borders around the world. Flights have been cancelled and whole fleets grounded.

The Irish Times would like to hear from people abroad about their experiences trying to get home this week.
