An estimated 200,000 people are expected to attend the AllIreland Fleadh Ceoil, which will be held again in Ballina next August.
The national executive of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann decided by 15 votes to 11 to hold the fleadh in Ballina to coincide with local celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the landing of the French forces at Kilcummin in 1798.
