A heroin addict has been jailed for 7 1/2 years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for a series of robberies.
Francis McGrane (26), of Blackhorse Grove, Oxmanstown, pleaded guilty to 11 charges of robberies on dates from 1994 to 1997.
Judge Cyril Kelly heard evidence from five gardai of the offences which sometimes involved the use of a syringe. One post office clerk had her hand punctured by a syringe jab. She has been cleared from having contracted any disease as a result.
