Addict remanded for bank robbery

A heroin addict has been remanded in custody for sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for armed bank robbery in 1993.

A heroin addict has been remanded in custody for sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for armed bank robbery in 1993.

Kevin Penrose (30), Casement Road, Dublin, pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of £12,500 from the Bank of Ireland, Main Street, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, on August 6th, 1993. He also admitted unlawful possession of a shotgun with intent to rob on the same occasion and to handling a stolen car on March 2nd, 1994.

Judge Cyril Kelly remanded him for sentence on July 24th.
