Allied Irish Banks has secured summary judgment for more than €10 million against a Co Kildare property developer over unpaid loans.

When AIB’s application came before Mr Justice Peter Kelly at the Commercial Court this week, it was not opposed on behalf of Patrick Byrne, Thomastown, Caragh, Naas. The judge said he was satisfied to enter summary judgment for €10,085,655.

James Doherty, for AIB, had sought judgment arising from facilities advanced to Mr Byrne from 2008.
