Tirana - Albanians cast their vote yesterday in local elections seen as a test for the country's fragile democracy and its wish for better European integration, with no incidents of violence reported.

"With the elections, we want to express the determination of Albania to integrate with the large European family and to leave past conflicts behind us for once and for all," Socialist Prime Minister, Mr Ilir Meta, said.
