Aldi Stores (Ireland ) Ltd, a discount group, may apply to the High Court next week for an order to restrain Dunnes Stores from allegedly infringing Aldi's trademarks.
Aldi has served proceedings seeking an interlocutory injunction - an order continuing pending the determination of legal proceedings between the parties - to restrain Dunnes from infringing Aldi's trademarks.
It also wants an order restraining Dunnes from publishing "misleading advertising" about Aldi. In particular, Aldi will seek a ban on the republishing of an advertisement which appeared in the Irish Examiner newspaper on April 7th last.
