Dublin-based telecom services company Alphyra said today that the positive sales growth in prepaid phone cards and electronic funds transfer have continued.

In a quarterly performance update, the company said volumes in Ireland for its prepaid phone cards rose 4.7 per cent and electronic funds transfer grew by 12.1 per cent.

In Europe, where Alphyra is still in the early stages of rolling out terminals, the company said it expects to see substantial volume growth in Europe in the coming quarters.

Alyphra (formerly ITG) shares has been steadily rising fueling speculation in the media that a management buyout of the Company is imminent at a significant premium. The shares were up 6 per cent today at €1.65 on the Dublin market this morning.
