In a report published on June 26th on the Morris Tribunal, it was represented as fact that a Mr Roderick Donnelly about whom evidence was being given had "also made false statements".

Mr Donnelly was tried and acquitted by a jury at Letterkenny Circuit Court in 2002 of making a false statement. Mr Donnelly has always denied making any false statements to the Gardaí and gave evidence to the Morris Tribunal to that effect.

We apologise to Mr Donnelly and retract the allegation that he had made such false statements.
