Armed raid carried out at Dún Laoghaire bank

A sum of money was taken during an armed raid on a bank in Dún Laoghaire this morning.

A sum of money was taken during an armed raid on a bank in Dún Laoghaire this morning.

A man armed with a handgun held up the bank on the town’s main street shortly before 11am, a Garda spokeswoman said.

She said an undisclosed sum of money was taken. The raider was described as wearing a white jacket.

The Garda Technical Bureau is examining the scene and gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
