Gardaí are seeking four men, at least one of whom was armed, who were involved in a robbery at a post office at Nutgrove Shopping Centre in Rathfarnham, Dublin, yesterday afternoon.
Three of the men entered the post office just before noon and escaped shortly afterwards with about €5,000.
They made their escape in a blue 2006 Ford Focus car, believed to have been driven by the fourth man. No shots were fired in the raid. The men were wearing the type of fluorescent jackets typically worn by builders, with their hoods and jackets pulled around their faces, according to gardaí.
The car was later found abandoned a short distance away at Hermitage Lawns, where the men are thought to have transferred to another vehicle. Officers were yesterday also examining a van which was found burned out near the shopping centre to establish if this was involved in the robbery.
