British Airways (BA) has cancelled all of its flights into and out of Heathrow until 6pm this evening due to industrial action.
Passengers due to fly with BA are advised to contact the airline directly for the latest information.
Essential road maintenance works are due to start, on a segment of the R108, near Dublin airport, between the Collinstown Lane junction and the R122 junction, on Monday morning.
The work will go ahead from 7am until 7pm daily Monday to Friday, and from 7am until 1pm every Saturday for the next four weeks. A contra-flow stop/go system will be in operation for the duration of the work.
Passengers using this segment of the R108, who are travelling to Dublin Airport, are advised to give themselves extra time or choose an alternative route.
In other transport news, there will be upgrade works on the Dart this weekend, meaning there will be no services operating south of Pearse station on Saturday and Sunday. However, there will be a service on the weekend of August 20th-21st to facilitate an air show.
Upgrade works have restarted on the Sligo-Dublin rail line. Services will operate both ways between Dublin and Mullingar or Edgeworthstown (depending on service). Bus transfers will operate both ways between Sligo and all intermediate stations to Edgeworthstown/Mullingar.
Services departure times will be up to 20 minutes earlier than normal. Passengers should check the special timetable for details either by calling 1890-778899, going online at www.irishrail.ie, or checking at stations.
Sporting events this weekend that will cause traffic delays include the all-Ireland football quarter final at Croke Park between Dublin and Tyrone, kick-off 3.30pm on Saturday. On Sunday Cork take on Clare in the hurling semis, with throw in at 3.30pm.
Tramore's racing festival runs over this weekend with evening races tonight and tomorrow night at 5.20pm, and on Sunday from 2.35pm. There's also racing at Leopardstown on Sunday at 2.45pm.
The 2005 Kilkenny Arts Festival will run from Friday 12th to Sunday 21st August and it is anticipated traffic will be heavier in the city during this time.
