John Gregory has made his first signing as Derby manager by bringing Newcastle defender Warren Barton to Pride Park.
The 32-year-old, who goes straight into the team to play Tottenham on Saturday, joins the Rams for a nominal fee after successfully completing a medical on Friday.
Gregory was only made Derby's third manager of the season on Wednesday and described the move as "the quickest transfer in the history of quick transfers".
