Belfast man due in court on murder charge

A man (39) was due in court today accused of murdering a Belfast man on his doorstep more than a year ago.

A man (39) was due in court today accused of murdering a Belfast man on his doorstep more than a year ago.

Arthur Berryman (46) was stabbed to death in front of his wife after she answered a knock at the door of their home on October 31st last year.

A masked man burst into the house on Imperial Street, East Belfast, and struck the woman in the face. He then stabbed Mr Berryman repeatedly, leaving him to die.

The man charged with the killing was due to appear before Laganside magistrates. A woman (21) was also expected in court charged with attempting to pervert the cause of justice.
