The report into the Dublin/Monaghan bombings, submitted to Taoiseach Bertie Ahern this week, will not be published until after next week's Cabinet meeting.

Headed by Paddy McEntee SC, the inquiry is expected to make serious allegations about the involvement of members of the British security forces in the 1974 atrocities.

A total of 33 civilians, 27 in Dublin and seven in Monaghan, died in car bomb attacks.

Sinn Féin MEP Mary Lou McDonald has called for publication as quickly as possible and for a full Dáil debate to take place before the Dáil is dissolved for the general election.

"This debate must be full and open and focused on the whole issue of collusion and not restricted to the Dublin/Monaghan bombings alone," Ms McDonald said.
