British police have joined the search for a man in connection with the death of a young Dubliner who died in an alleged "road rage" incident on Sunday. The victim's funeral takes place today.

The Garda in Dublin asked British police for their assistance earlier this week when they had confirmed that the prime suspect they were seeking in connection with the death of David Keating (21) had left the State.

The head of the investigation, Det Supt P.J. Browne of Kevin Street, said the suspect, an Algerian, took a plane to Heathrow Airport in London later that same day.

British police officers had joined the hunt for the suspect, whose identity was known but who had not yet been named, he said.

A passenger in the vehicle who witnessed the attack had later contacted the Garda.

The Garda believe the suspect, a 40-year-old businessman who has been resident here for the past seven years, could yet decide to give himself up and return to Dublin.
