A head-on collision between a bus and truck in northeast Iran has killed 13 people and injured 21 others today.

A head-on collision between a bus and truck in northeast Iran has killed 13 people and injured 21 others today.

IRNA news agency said the bus crashed into a lorry carrying sulphur, causing a fire on the road between northeastern city of Mashhad and southern town of Rafsanjan this morning.

Some of the 21 people injured in the crash were hurt critically, the agency said.

Some 17,000 people died in road accidents in Iran last year.
