New forms of work organisation, including new work practices and general skills training in companies and educational institutions, could help firms to cope with economic change and remain competitive globally, the report said. The council recommended the development of training materials and support networks between companies to enable a sharing of information and experience, with the results of pilot projects being supplied to all firms.
