Tyrone captain Peter Canavan remains hopeful of being fit for next month's All-Ireland final despite suffering ankle ligament damage in yesterday's win over Kerry.
The Errigal Ciaran forward fell awkwardly on the Croke Park turf when challenging for the ball with Seamus Moynihan after less than 15 minutes and hobbled from the pitch to be replaced by Stephen O'Neill.
He faced an anxious wait to discover the extent of the injury today and while a scan on his left ankle revealed ligament damage, with five weeks to recover the current All-Star is expected to be fit.
Tyrone, who ran out 0-13 to 0-6 winners over Kerry in a rough and tumble match yesterday, face the winners of Armagh and Donegal in the final.
