Celtic are set to win the race for Mexican star Efrain Juarez, his agent has confirmed.

Yesterday, Jorge Berlanga confirmed the interest from Parkhead, although he also admitted that a move to England or Spain was preferable.

However, Celtic have pushed ahead with the deal and now look set to seal the signature of the highly-rated midfielder. Pumas UNAM have accepted a deal worth around €4 million.

"I thought he looked decent there and in the World Cup and when the opportunity came up we watched him again and again and asked if he would fit in to what we wanted to do here.

"We all agreed that he would. We're not paying massive money for him."
