An application by the local council to close down an unauthorised development at the Centra store in Dalkey was adjourned until tomorrow.

The Centra store has used eight prefabricated Portacabins to extend its shop, the Circuit Civil Court has been told.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council inspector Martin Cassidy told Judge Jacqueline Linnane the development did not have planning permission.

Marie Ballyguile Limited which trades as Marie Centra, Barnhill Road, Dalkey, may be forced to close down the unauthorised extension.

Barrister Carol O’Farrell was granted leave to serve short notice on the store of the local authority’s intention to restrain continuation of the unauthorised development.
