The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, was in Bonn last week for the informal EU budget summit. The IFA made sure they tracked him down and suggested they meet for a friendly pint in the city's Irish pub where they could appraise Bertie yet again of the farmers' plight. Bertie's people changed the venue to the Irish Embassy. The reason? The pub is called The Fiddler. Bad photo opportunity.
