Racing: Peter Chapple-Hyam is struggling to maintain calm as Authorized's date with destiny in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe draws tantalisingly close.

The Newmarket trainer has already enjoyed Derby and Juddmonte International success with the star colt and is counting down the hours until Longchamp's feature attraction on Sunday.

Yet despite those nerves, Chapple-Hyam is in very positive mood and believes Authorized is in the form of his life.

"I can't sleep and I just want it to be now - I can't wait," he admitted.  "However, I'd rather be like that than waiting to watch it on television after a Sunday roast.

"He's drawn 12 of 12, which I think will be good as we can stay out of trouble.  The boys couldn't be happier with him - he's cantered every day and is as good as gold. I've never been as happy with him as I am now."

Chapple-Hyam is also delighted with the way Authorized has taken the journey across the English Channel in his stride.

"He's at Chantilly and he's tucked away with Tariq and Dutch Art (who run in the Prix de la Foret tomorrow)," he added.  "I'll bring him to Longchamp on Sunday morning but he's travelled well."

Prince Khalid Abdullah will be hoping Zambezi Sun can spoil the party by carrying his famous silks to victory for the second year in succession after Rail Link obliged in 2006.

Last seen finishing third to Soldier Of Fortune in the Prix Niel, the son of Dansili is expected to have come on for the run.

Of the Pascal Bary-trained colt, Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said: "All has gone well and we have been more than pleased with him.

"He came on for his run in the Niel as he really needed that badly and was very short leading up to it.

"You hope every horse can progress to run in the Arc but the way he has progressed made it an obvious race, particularly seeing as he has followed a similar path to Rail Link.

"Rail Link didn't run in the French Derby but Zambezi Sun did and he was a little unlucky. He was drawn badly and finished very well.

"The form of that race is strong too, so we knew we had a good horse."

Authorized remains the red-hot 11-10 favourite with Ladbrokes, who have eased Soldier Of Fortune to 7-2 from 3s following a lack of support for the Irish Derby hero.
