A 53 year old foreign national appeared before the Dublin District Court yesterday charged with raping his nine year old step daughter in the west Dublin area. The man faces four charges of rape and four charges of sexually assaulting her at their home on dates between August 11th, 1995, and June 26th last.
Judge Gerard Haughton remanded the defendant on £20,000 cash bail to appear again before Kilmainham District Court for the service of a book of evidence against him.
Also before the Dublin District Court was a 35 year old Ballymun man charged with raping a 74 year old woman, assaulting her and occasioning actual bodily harm in the Glasnevin area on August 5th. He was remanded in custody to September 27th.
