Children from the Ardoyne area of North Belfast have embarked on a holiday near Maam Cross in Co Galway.
The children were at the centre of loyalist-staged protests earlier in the year when loyalists objected to their route to the Holy Cross school.
The children are the guests of Peackock’s Hotel, near Maam Cross, which suffered an accidental fire last night in which a thatched cottage visitor centre attached to the hotel was burned out.
