Darren Clarke is losing touch with leader Adam Scott having reached the turn in the final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston.

Clarke, who won the NEC Invitational at Firestone last week, began three strokes off the lead at 11-under par and closed the gap with a birdie at the very first hole. A further birdie at the 7th kept him in contention but he now founds himself sliding down the leaderboard.

While Scott has picked up the pace and moved to 19-under, the Tyroneman's challenge is beginning to unravel after bogeys at the 9th ant 10th moved him back to 11-under for the tournament.

Rocco Mediate, Justin Rose and Jonathan Kaye lead the pack chasing Scott but with a four stroke advantage, the Australian is unlikely to be caught.

The Deutsche Bank Championship is the only tournament in the PGA calendar to finish on a Monday, taking advantage of the Labor Day holiday.
