Workers in Co Cork are bracing themselves for further bad news this morning, with 200 jobs under threat at the Surfacemount Technology plant in Cork city.
Staff at Surfacemount Technology, a Canadian owned electronics company based in Cork are being briefed by management this morning on the future of the plant.
Around 200 jobs are under threat in what would be another blow to the Cork economy following the recent closure of Youghal Carpets with the loss of 260 jobs and the announcement by 160 job cuts at electronic storage company EMC.
