Two armed robbers who tied up a couple during a house raid are being hunted today by detectives in Northern Ireland.

The masked men, who were brandishing sawn-off shotguns, entered a family home in Antrim and demanded money.

The PSNI said the homeowner's 29-year-old son and his 20-year-old girlfriend were tied up during the robbery. The pair then ransacked the house before leaving in the homeowner's Range Rover with a substantial amount of cash.

The robbery happened in the Dublin Road area of the town at around 12.30am.

"The victims were not physically injured but were left shaken by their ordeal," said a PSNI spokeswoman.

"Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or witnessed any suspicious activity to contact them.

"They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the Range Rover with the registration number VRM UKZ."
