Gardaí have seized almost €100,000 worth of cannabis from a wooded area in Co Cavan as part of an ongoing investigation into the local area.
The seizure was made at Drumgill on Tuesday but only confirmed by gardaí last night.
No arrests were made as a result of the operation. Gardaí say they seized €96,000 worth of cannabis plants as well as paraphernalia for its cultivation with the help of “advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks”.
In a statement, they continued: “Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
