Explosives and explosive materials have been discovered by detectives from the serious crime branch.
Officers probing dissident republican activity carried out the search on land in the Cemetery Road area of Strabane, Co Tyrone, this morning.
A PSNI spokesman said bomb disposal experts were called to the scene.
“No roads were closed or houses evacuated in this search,” he added.
Investigations are ongoing.
