A 55-year-old man charged with the murder of his housemate has been remanded in custody with consent to bail until next month.
Arnis Labunskis of Wolfe Tone Street, Limerick is accused of the murder of 39-year-old Dainius Burba at the same address between April 21st and 22nd last.
When he appeared before a vacation sitting of Limerick District Court on Wednesday, Mr Labunskis’s solicitor Muiris Gavin said his client had been granted bail in the High Court but had been unable to take it up yet.
He agreed to a further four-week adjournment to allow for preparation of the book of evidence.
Judge John King remanded the accused in custody with consent to bail until September 1st next. A Latvian interpreter was present in court to assist the accused during the brief hearing.
Mr Burba was found dead in the early hours of April 22nd last after the alarm was raised by concerned neighbours.
