A Pakistani man who violently raped and beat women after following them home at night will be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court next week.
Salman Dar (33) is serving a 15-year sentence for viciously attacking and raping three women within a six-month period in 2004.
Today, the Central Criminal Court heard that in 2012 Dar was in prison when he contacted gardaí to say he wanted to confess to two more sex attacks carried out within the same six months.
Describing his actions, Dar told gardaí: “I had no plan. If opportunity presents, I’ll attack.”
Caroline Cummins BL, prosecuting, said Dar is a predatory sex attacker who ambushed his victims on their way home.
Mr Justice Paul Carney adjourned sentencing to next Monday in order to assess the evidence and mitigating factors. He said he would be willing to consider suspending any sentence on condition that Dar be deported immediately after his current sentence expires.
