A cyclist is in a critical condition after colliding with a pedestrian in the Phoenix Park in Dublin on Monday evening.
The incident happened at around 8.40pm on Monday on the city-bound cycling lane of Chesterfield Avenue between the Castleknock Gate and Áras an Uachtaráin.
Gardaí say a male cyclist in his 50s collided with a pedestrian and was subsequently taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A male pedestrian in his 30s was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown after sustaining injuries to his back and leg.
Gardaí are appealing for information from members of the public and have asked anyone with information to contact Cabra Garda Station on 01 666 7400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
